Friday morning was sunny, inconsistent to the Met-Service.. again. So I hurried up and made my way to Coromandel peninsula. After a 1,5h hours drive me, myself and the Red Lady enjoyed a beautiful ride along the coast of Firth of Thames.
As the road went along the coast, I expected no hills and switched to the bike. Well... nope. 700m in height on a 40k ride is not flat.. Amazingly I made it even due to the fact that I didn't had any carbo breakfast :-)
Maybe thats the reason for a lot of cemeteries of lost biker souls.
After the first ride in NZ I headed further north. Passing the Town of Colville were the paved roads end and the fun starts. Narrow enough to be considered a one-way road but it isn't. Rental cars are not allowed here by the way..
After a bull attacked the Red Lady.. I'm considering renameing my car.. Guess my funny joke.. Yeah RedBull..
After some time not being faster than 20km/h I reached my final destination for that day. A lonely camping site in the middle of nowhere:
After one or two cold beers I decided to turn down the lights to enjoy a LOT of stars..
Needless to say that there was nobody there except me.. A little bit scary..
The sun kissed me awake the next morning. After a awesome breakfast at the beach, I made my way home to Auckland via Cathedral Cove on the East Coast of Coromandel..
