The golf ball

It's hard to believe, but this red golf ball accompanied me over my journey through New Zealand. Despite terribly supporting the environmental noise due to his movement in the glove compartment of my van - I kept it.

Keep on rolling buddy.

Air China - solo

Ever dreamt of owning your own Boeing 777... Well at least I got sneak preview of this feeling while flying Sydney to Bejing over Chinese New Year, alone in Business class.

Priceless.

Waitangi Day @ Mt. Taranaki

On Waitangi Day 2013 I decided to climb Mt Taranaki. Its a 2518m high vulcano and a sacred place of the Maori people.

The day before:

Some snowfall over the night (in Summer!) made it a little bit easier on the iced top:

Mt. Taranaki from space. All in all a pain in the a** 6h return climb over damn loose gravel.. There must be a reason for this..

Fistful of Awesome

Back on the Interislander, I recapped the impressions of the South Island. The Place to be.

French Pass

After the sweet French village of Akaroa, I arrived in Havelock. A little place in Marlborough, but called the mussel capital of the world. But far more interesing and more beautiful are the Marlbourogh Sounds. Havelock is basically the gateway to the Sounds.

Incredible walk, nice people and chatting all day. Sweet.

Quick bath at Misstletoe bay, just before turnaround @ 17km. :-)

The day after, I followed advise to visit Frech Pass. Another French, but believe it. The most beautiful place to chill out.

Aloha Akaroa

Christchurch ist zwar eine Ruinenstadt, aber die Banks Halbinsel ist schon ein feines Plätzchen. Raggae Festival inklusive.

Übringens eine französische Siedlung. Wohl die einzige hier.
